O3SIS SyncML Synchronization

O3SIS SyncML Synchronization is today's most advanced implementation of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Data Synchronization standard, powered by O3SIS innovation, customer references, and strong vendor relationships. It allows for:

  • Regular backup of data stored on the device to a secure server; Quickly restore data from the server to a new device in case the old device was lost or stolen
  • Remove personal data from lost or stolen devices
  • Transfer personal data between devices when changing devices; either in the shop or as a self-service at home
  • Keep multiple devices always synchronized
  • Keep the device(s) synchronized with a desktop package such as MS Outlook

O3SIS SyncML Synchronization key components and characteristics are:

Functionality
O3SIS SyncML Synchronization is a full-featured product including four conflict resolution rules, large object support for transferring data such as pictures, advanced configuration options for defining scope and behavior of the entire synchronization process, and scheduled or event-triggered synchronization modes.

Standard Compliance
All current implementations of OMA DS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are supported. All synchronization types Two-Way Sync, One-Way Sync, Refresh Sync, and Server Alerted Sync are available, enabling a wide range of backup & restore, synchronization, and server-initiated synchronization scenarios.

Client Adaptors
As with all standards there are significant deviations in the way how client vendors implement SyncML - mostly imposed by the varying capabilities of different devices. O3SIS therefore invented the O3SIS SyncML Client Adaptor Layer, making it possible to optimize the synchronization behavior for each device.

Interoperability Tested
O3SIS has taken an additional step in achieving a best-in-class user experience by offering an Early Interoperability Testing (IOT) program to SyncML client vendors. Device and client software vendors now can use the O3SIS server product as reference during their actual client development, leading to more usability, functionality, and customer satisfaction.

Scalability
All O3SIS products are based on the O3SIS "Unified Mobile Applications" (UMA) platform, giving them the highest level of scalability and reliability available in the industry today. O3SIS technology can handle billions of records and thousands of transactions per second, and enable consolidation of internationally distributed IT operations through a unique co-hosting functionality.
