PRESS RELEASE XXXO3SIS Enables Mobile Handset Manufacturers to Integrate Real-Time Consumer Push-Mail Ready for interoperability testing, O3SIS' new e-mail platform is based on the open OMA DS 1.2 industry standard CTIA, LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2006 - O3SIS AG, a leading provider of personal mobile applications and Over-the-Air data synchronization (DS) technology to first tier mobile network operators, today announced that its latest consumer Push Mail platform is available for interoperability testing with mobile handset manufacturers. O3SIS' Push Mail interoperability testing program enables cellular phone manufacturers to easily implement next generation mail solutions on their devices and therefore provide value-added, Push Mail-ready handsets to mobile network operators. In turn, operators can expedite the deployment of email services to consumers using qualified handsets that are ready for customization and deployment. Similar to email capabilities that are driving smart phone adoption in business, O3SIS Push Mail allows consumers to read and respond to emails directly from their handset in real-time. "O3SIS works jointly with manufactures and mobile network operators to deliver a complete, seamless and secure server-based e-mail product that enhances the overall subscriber experience," said Dirk Dörre, CEO and CTO at O3SIS. "By completing our interoperability testing, O3SIS eliminates the need for manufacturers to develop an expensive and complex proprietary e-mail solution. This significantly reduces time to market and enables network operators to offer this value-added service to the underserved consumer market, providing them with a tremendous competitive advantage." The Push Mail program provides the handset vendor with access to the O3SIS servers as well as a team of experts in order to assist them in the development of next generation clients for their handsets. The O3SIS server is already validated with several handset vendors, which will expedite the development and integration of a fully-functional e-mail solution in next generation handsets. The O3SIS Push Mail client is based on the widely accepted, open standards architecture, OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) DS 1.2, which prevents manufacturers from getting locked into proprietary technology. The O3SIS Push Mail server automatically configures a new user's phone over the mobile network - without requiring the consumer to install and configure complex, unfamiliar software. All user settings and configuration are maintained centrally on the server and are easily accessed over the Web. O3SIS further enhances the user's mobile experience with numerous personal service options such as automatic mail retrieval from popular mail providers such as AOL, Google, YAHOO, Compuserve and others accessible via POP or IMAP, as well as spam filtering and user-configured push filters. With an integrated and over-the-air synchronized address book, O3SIS Push Mail additionally gives users quick and up-to-date access to all contact information, enabling them to respond to messages via email or phone, converging voice and messaging at the press of a button. O3SIS improves on existing push mail systems by offering increased security and transport efficiency. Push Mail uses HTTP protocol and SSL encryption, making it more secure than existing solutions based on POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, or proprietary protocols. This offers a significant benefit to operators who are hesitant to open up SMTP or application-specific ports due to spam and security concerns. And, outbound emails can be sent directly from the handset without the need for an SMTP connection. Push Mail is a key part of O3SIS' Unified Mobile Applications (UMA) platform, which also offers Over-the-Air data synchronization, a full-featured address book, mobile device backup/restore, and mobile personal information management (PIM) functionality. UMA enables operators to roll out multiple value-added services from a single, high-performance platform, significantly reducing system complexity and maintenance costs. LogicaCMG will be demonstrating O3SIS Push Mail on Nokia Series 60 phones at CTIA in booth #3419 as part of its strategy for extending traditional internet-based communication tools to the mobile environment.
