O3SIS Enables Mobile Network Operators to Tap into Consumer Market with Innovative and Affordable Push Mail Products

O3SIS Launches DS1.2 Push Mail Products for Nokia Series 60 at 3GSM World Congress

Barcelona, Spain - February 13, 2006 - O3SIS AG, a leading provider of personal mobile applications and Over-the-Air data synchronization (DS) technology to first tier mobile network operators, today announced the launch of the next-generation Push Mail product that is based on widely accepted and open industry standards. O3SIS eliminates the need for proprietary and complex push mail solutions, enabling network operators to offer the service to the underserved consumer market.

"We set out to make push mail accessible to the widest range of mobile consumers possible," said Dirk Dörre, CEO and CTO at O3SIS. "There's no reason mobile e-mail needs to be limited to proprietary devices, PDAs, or expensive smartphones. Our Push Mail solution is ideal for the everyday cell phone user-opening up a large, very attractive market and allowing more users to benefit from instantaneous access to mobile e-mail."

Push Mail enables the mobile user to stay connected to their e-mail no matter where they are. Messages are delivered to the user's phone as soon as they are received, without any action needed by the user.

O3SIS further enhances the user's mobile experience with numerous personal service options such as automatic mail retrieval from different mail providers like YAHOO, Compuserve and all others accessible via POP or IMAP, as well as spam filtering and user-configured push filters. With an integrated, full-featured address book, O3SIS Push Mail additionally gives users quick access to all contact information, enabling them to respond to messages via email or phone, converging voice and messaging at the press of a button. The same OMA DS based Over-the-Air data synchronization technology allows users to automatically update and safeguard their valuable contact data.

The O3SIS Push Mail solution is easy to use from the start. There is no client software to install and the server automatically configures a new user's phone over the mobile network. So O3SIS eliminates time-consuming and complicated software installations, and saves the user from configuring complicated mail settings on the phone. All user settings and configuration are maintained centrally on the server and are easily accessed over the Web.

Based solely on open industry standards, O3SIS' solution minimizes the total cost of ownership by eliminating the need for proprietary mail clients or devices. The Push Mail solution is based on the OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) DS1.2 standard. It's compatible with some of the latest devices supporting DS1.2, giving operators a flexible, future-proof solution. Today, Nokia E60, E61, and E70 models are supported. Other handsets are soon to follow, as the Company is actively working with more than 15 handset vendors in the O3SIS Interoperability Testing Program.

O3SIS improves on existing push mail systems by offering increased security and transport efficiency. Push Mail uses the HTTP protocol and SSL encryption, making it more secure than existing solutions based on POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, or proprietary protocols. This offers a significant benefit to operators who are hesitant to open up SMTP or application-specific ports due to spam and security concerns. And outbound emails can be sent directly from the handset without the need for an SMTP connection.

Push Mail is a key part of O3SIS' Unified Mobile Applications (UMA) platform, which also offers Over-the-Air data synchronization, a full-featured address book, mobile device backup/restore, and mobile personal information management (PIM) functionality. UMA enables operators to roll out multiple value-added services from a single, high-performance platform, significantly reducing system complexity and maintenance costs.

LogicaCMG, a major international force in IT and wireless telecoms, has selected O3SIS as part of its strategy for extending traditional internet-based communication tools to the mobile environment. Its newly-launched Push Email marks the first push mail solution for mobile network operators, allowing operators to maintain direct control over service delivery, pricing structure and promotions, as well as retain a direct relationship with the customer. LogicaCMG is demonstrating its Push Mail solution at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain February 13-16 (Stand B11).
